The Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 120-107 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night, clinching their 18th NBA championship in franchise history.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Jaylen Brown added 24 points and 7 rebounds. Luka Dončić paced the Mavericks with 32 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Celtics' balanced attack.

The Celtics started the game hot, taking a 10-point lead in the first quarter. They continued to build on their lead in the second quarter, taking a 20-point lead into halftime. The Mavericks came out strong in the third quarter, cutting the Celtics' lead to 10 points, but the Celtics were able to hold them off and win the game.
